Reasons for the Battle of Plassey
The British East India Company had established 3 main forts; Fort St. George in Madras, Fort William in Calcutta and Bombay Castle in Western India.
Ali Virdi Khan was succeeded by his grandson Siraj-Ud-Daulah, as the Nawab of Bengal. During this period the relations of Bengal and the British deteriorated due to a variety of reasons leading to the Battle of Plassey.
